Valerie was an enthusiastic officer recruited by 736 (Thunder Bay) Communication Squadron. Logistics by cap badge she often excelled far beyond her Jimmy counterparts. Never lost for words, Valerie proved to be a loyal friend, a fierce competitor and a compassionate citizen. She will be missed by those who new her best.
Valerie Jane Dale (nee Sweet) West, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Thursday, November 10, 2011, age 54 years.
Born in Exeter, Ontario, Valerie had served in the Canadian Forces Reservist and had worked as a By-Law Officer in Thunder Bay and a Private Investigator in Kitchener. Valerie is survived by her sisters, Gail Graham of Stoney Plain, A.B., Cheryl Kee and Chris of Delaware, Ontario and a brother, Ian Sweet of Cambridge. She is survived also by nieces, Erin Kee-Lindsay (Neil), Allison Kee and Haley Sweet. Predeceased by her parents, Douglas and Marian Sweet. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Valerie's Life was held at the Waterloo Regional Police Association on Sunday, November 13th, 2011.
