Obituary announcement for Wayne Corkum LM806

Wayne Allen Corkum, CD - 66, of Melanson, Kings County, passed away Monday, February 18, 2013.  Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Carl and Dorothy (Allen) Corkum.  Wayne was a member of the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals for 13 years.  During this time he served in Camp Gagetown, N.B., Edmonton, Alberta, Lahr, Germany, Petawawa, ON, and Middle East.  After retiring from the Forces he moved to N.S. and joined the Civil Servants as a Communications Operator with 723 Comm Sqn, Halifax, finally retiring in 1999.  He is survived by his beloved wife, the former Theresa Davidson; and cherished daughter, Karen Corkum, Melanson; a sister, Linda Christie, Lakeville; two brothers, Karl (Cheryl), Beaverbank; Michael (Elizabeth), Mt. Uniacke.  He is survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Maureen Luckhurst.  Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23,2013, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating.  Burial will take place at a later date in the Gaspereau Cemetery, Kings County.  Donations in memory may be made to a charity of your choice.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
