Colonel Lawrence (Larry)
Saunders (1942-2016)
It is with regret that we inform you of the passing
suddently from heart failure of Colonel (Ret`d) Lawrence (Larry) Saunders, CD
on 17 January 2016 at the age of 73.
Larry served 35 years in the Air Force as
a Tech Tel/CELE officer. His last assignments in NDHQ include Director Computer
Systems Engineering and Maintenance, the predecessor to today DIMEI and Project
Manager for the North Warning System.
On retirement from the military in 1994, Larry spent nine years in
Brunssum, the Netherlands on the NATO AWACS Programme before retiring to
Moncton, NB. Larry was an outstanding individual who made a significant
contribution to the success of Communications & Electronics Branch and the
Canadian Forces.
Larry is survived by his wife Sandra, daughter Susan and son Stephen.
The family will hold a private celebration of Larry’s life. Larry will be
sorely missed by his family and friends. According this wish, there will be no funeral
and no wake.
