John passed away peacefully and suddenly at his home in Waterloo on Thursday, May 26th, two days after celebrating his 67th Wedding Anniversary and a weekend at his beloved Southampton. He will be watching over his “old gal”.

John is survived by his loving wife Geraldine (nee Geoffrey), son Robert Gillies and his wife Connie of Thornhill, sisters-in-law Gert Gillies of Waterloo, Norma Gillies of Marmora, Carole Larrett (husband Gary) of Skead, and brother-in-law Gerry Geoffrey (wife Carmen) of Coniston. He will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers Don and Ken, brothers and sisters-in-law Sonny (Jacquie) Geoffrey, Mary (Ray) Lang and his nephews and niece.

John served proudly in the Canadian Armed Forces for 26 years including a posting in Sinai, Egypt in the Signal Corp. He was employed by the University of Waterloo for 19 years after settling in the K-W area.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

This is Ron's daughter Laura. I'm sorry to inform you all that my Dad has passed away. He went peacefully with his daughters by his side Monday (May 23rd) afternoon. There will be a service held on Saturday June 4th at 2 p.m. at Henderson's Funeral Home in Abbotsford for anyone who would like to attend. He will be greatly missed

Obituary announcement for old comrade Patrick Brian Sullivan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick Brian Sullivan of Nerepis on May 7/16. He was raised in Saint John NB after arriving from England. He then joined the Air Force and when he left the service he went to work at the Irving Oil Refinery. Retirment was no burden for him as he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and trapper. He also enjoyed getting out to cut and spllit our winter wood supply. He is survived by his loving wife Sandra, son Steven of Calgary, Alberta, and daughter Dianna (Kurt) Hohmann of Nerepis, also two grandchildren Timothy Hohmann (Tiffany) of Petawawa Ont, and Mariah Hohman of Nerepis, three great grandchildren Johnathon, Julia, and Emilia-Lynn. Sisters Carol Fisher, Pam Lyons (Donny), and Brenda Donovan (Doug), brother Frank (Angie), also several cousins, nieces, and nephews to whom he had a special bond with each. He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Joan Sullivan, sister Barbra Jean, daughter Heather Lynn, and brother-in-law Ronald Fisher. He was a charter member of the Nerepis Baptist Church where a memorial service will be held onSaturday May 14th 2016 at 2pm. There will be no viewing as this was his wish. A reception will be held at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.

COULOMBE, JohnPeacefully, surrounded by his family at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Thursday, April 21, 2016, aged 78 years. Beloved husband of Patricia McCleave. Loving father of Darren Coulombe and Roddy Coulombe (Brenda Harlow). Cherished Grandpa of Stéphane, Kyle, Devlyn and Draedyn. Stepfather of Stephen McCleave, Wendy O'Connor, David McCleave, Lori McCleave and Shawn McCleave. Will be sadly missed by his sister, Laurie Mitchell, brothers, Rick Coulombe (Judy) and the late Roger Coulombe, nephew Jason and niece Karen. John was an active member of the St. Clare's Anglican Church and Parish Council. John was also an active member of the NATO Veteran's Organization of Canada. He was a proud and accomplished woodturner.
