HEARNDEN, Clifford Lloyd -Died peacefully in his 82nd year at Carleton Place Hospital Ontario, on the morning of Thursday October 25 2018 after a fight with Cancer. He bravely and stoically accepted his fate. His lifelong partner Ellen Hearnden of 61.5 years, was by his side until his last day. Cliff is survived by his wife Ellen Hearnden (nee Stephenson), his son Stanley Hearnden, and daughters Joanne Leavoy, Janice Lloyst and Joyce Hearnden-Kerridge. Cliff often spoke of the wonderful life he was blessed with and that he had no regrets. His last wishes were for cremation, as he simply wanted to go out of this world knowing,“ I did it my way”. He was very proud of his life accomplishments and will be sorely missed by his family and by those who knew him. Any donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. An RCCS Soldier Apprentice aka Green Monster in Kingston Vimy Barracks class E-6 Troop graduated in 1954 went on to a rewarding and successful 35 year career of many postings across Canada including Europe (Germany). These posting highlights saw him jumping out of perfectly serviceable aircraft while in the Airborne Regiment, writing at the rank of Sergeant the very first Canadian Supplement Voice Procedure Manual, and as a Major after being commissioned from the ranks (CFR) years earlier, completion of trade analysis work at (DMOS) for which he would have influence for the amalgamation of the Radio Operator and Teletype trades years later. He deployed on missions to the Congo and Damascus Syria. These are Just a few highlights of many accomplishments for Cliff's career in the CAF. VVV13313855

Obituary notice for club member Edward Byam LM224
Edward J. BYAM (October 09, 1925-October 24, 2018
Ed passed away peacefully on Oct 24th, after 93 years of living life to its absolute fullest. Husband to Joan, proud Father to Jeff, Gary and Ray. Father in law to Katherine and Theresa, and dear Grandad to Emily and Sarah. He was a highly decorated WW2 and Canadian Army veteran and a world traveller who commanded at least 12 languages. He was never one to shy away from an adventure or a microphone and his personality and generosity were the size of a planet Earth: a place he explored with passion and zeal. He will be sorely missed by his family and all those that were fortunate enough to meet him. Many thanks to the staff at the Priory for taking such kind care of "Eddie". A celebration of life will be held later in the new year.
