COLLINS, Wilbur “Bill” Ronald - Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 560 It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of a great man, Bill Collins, at the Kingston General Hospital on Friday, January 25th 2019 in his 89th year. Bill spent his life as a proud military service man. He began his career in the Royal Canadian Regiment and went on to join the Signal Corps, retiring as a Sergeant in 1974. Bill went on to work in the retail industry with Sears Canada until his official retirement in the mid-1980s. One thing you always got from Bill was a hug and a smile and the occasional joke. Two of Bill’s favourite things were music and travel, but his number one passion was and always will be family. Beloved husband of 66 years to the late Berny Collins. Loving father of Lynn Garrison (the late Dennis) and Bill Collins (Kathy). Proud grandpa of Gina (Steve), Andrew (Jen), Katie, Michelle (Michelle) and Patrick (Rachel). Survived by step siblings Wilma and Geordy. Predeceased by 7 siblings and one step sibling. Bill will be missed by many others; family, friends, neighbours; he touched so many lives. Visitation at the GORDON F. TOMPKINS FUNERAL HOME - TOWNSHIP CHAPEL , 435 Davis Drive (Taylor-Kidd Blvd. at Centennial Dr.) on Wednesday, January 30th from 2- 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, January 31st at 11 a.m. Interment Glenhaven Memorial Gardens, Glenburnie. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Glenburnie United Church, University Hospitals Kingston Foundation, or Almost Home would be appreciated by the family.
