Obituary Notice for club member Hugh John Mcinnis, LM 423

HUGH JOHN MCINNIS

December 4, 1929-December 5, 2020 (Chief Warrant Officer, Canadian Armed Forces Ret)

Born in Mariposa Twp., Ontario on December 4, 1929, Hugh passed away peacefully at Fairmont Home on Saturday , December 5,2020 at the age of 91. He is surviied by his daughter Karin and sister Beatrice (Rideout). Predeceased by his wife Berta (Kuder), brothers Carlisle and Bruce, and parents Alex and Mabel (Langman). He will be fondly remembered and missed by his friends and family.

Hugh joined the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals in 1949 and served in Korea and Egypt. After many postings in Canada and Germany, he retired as a CWO from the Communications and Electronics Branch (Kingston) in 1976 and began a second career as a teacher with Correctional Services Canada and several High Schools until retiring in 1989. That left him free to pursue his passions for travel and skiing with Berta and/or Karin. He never met a mountain he didn't like. An accomplished raconteur and history buff, Hugh was a welcome guest at any party.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation and internment have taken place. In Hugh's memory, you may make a donation to the Military Communications and Electronics Museum Foundation or a charity of your choice.
