McCONNELL, Albert Vernon (Veteran WW II) - Peacefully at Fairmount Home Kingston on Saturday, October 22, 2011 in his 95th year. Beloved husband of 63 years to Earla (nee Credicott). Loving father of Nancy Denny (Phil) and much loved grandfather of Jessica Denny (Jason Melo) and Larissa Denny. Dear brother of Ernest Kohnle (the late Ollie), James Kohnle (Marg), Ann Sawyer and the late Charles Kohnle (Barb). Funeral Service was held at ROBERT J. REID & SONS FUNERAL HOME, on Friday, October 28, Interment was at Cataraqui Cemetery. Valerie was an enthusiastic officer recruited by 736 (Thunder Bay) Communication Squadron. Logistics by cap badge she often excelled far beyond her Jimmy counterparts. Never lost for words, Valerie proved to be a loyal friend, a fierce competitor and a compassionate citizen. She will be missed by those who new her best.

Valerie Jane Dale (nee Sweet) West, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Thursday, November 10, 2011, age 54 years.
Born in Exeter, Ontario, Valerie had served in the Canadian Forces Reservist and had worked as a By-Law Officer in Thunder Bay and a Private Investigator in Kitchener. Valerie is survived by her sisters, Gail Graham of Stoney Plain, A.B., Cheryl Kee and Chris of Delaware, Ontario and a brother, Ian Sweet of Cambridge. She is survived also by nieces, Erin Kee-Lindsay (Neil), Allison Kee and Haley Sweet. Predeceased by her parents, Douglas and Marian Sweet. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Valerie's Life was held at the Waterloo Regional Police Association on Sunday, November 13th, 2011.

CLARKE, CWO Donald MMM, CD - RC Sigs, H of C January 24, 1927 - October 22, 2011 Don passed away peacefully with Vera (nee Smythe), his devoted wife of 61 years, by his side on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the age of 84. Loving father of Scott (Teresa) and grandfather of Ian and Heather. Brother to Kenneth (Kay) of Estevan, Saskatchewan, and pre-deceased by his siblings James, Minerva, Dougal, Francis, Jack, and Vivian. A boy soldier in World War II, Don's military career spanned 34 years, including time with the Royal Canadian Signals Corps and UN peacekeeping missions, finishing as Military Secretary to the Minister of National Defence. His final civilian appointment was Assistant Deputy Sergeant-at-Arms of the House of Commons. Don's smile, courtesy and good humour will be missed by all who knew him. The family thanks all of our friends for the visits and emotional support over the past few weeks. Sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff at The Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus Neurology Unit and the General Campus Oncology Unit for the exceptional skill and compassion they demonstrated in caring for Don. Obituary Notice for David Fehr LM221

October 2, 1930 – September 21, 2011: In the early morning of September 21st, 2011, David Fehr passed away at the Norwood Care Centre in Edmonton following a short illness.

Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife Irene, daughters: Dianne (JC), Gail (Butch), Beverly (Robert) and Barbara (Joe), 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, as well as 2 brothers and 4 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dave was a member of the Canadian Forces for over 25 years serving in Canada, Europe and several peace keeping missions around the world. He was also a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Although retired from the military for many years, he still considered his life as a soldier his one true career and continued his association through military clubs and events.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, October 1st at Evergreen Funeral Chapel – 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton. KEDDY, Wilfred Noel “Bud“ - Surrounded by love, Bud died peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on Friday September 9, 2011. Bud was a loving husband to Eleanor for 54 years. He will be greatly missed by his family, daughter Debbie (John) Gillis and son David (Darlene) Keddy. Bud was so proud of his grandchildren, Tim(Jenna), Jackie Gillis, Chrissy Keddy and his great- grandchild Kaiden. Bud has joined Julia in heaven. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Irene Keddy. Bud was a proud member of the military and a financial planner. He loved life and fought many illnesses to stay with us as long as possible. The Triumph motorcycle company began designing its 500cc TRW model in 1943, but by the time the bike went into production the Second World War was over and the British military had a surplus of motorcycles used by dispatch riders.

Many were used by the military in countries around the world, including, Canada, Germany, Holland, Pakistan and South Africa. This incredible find was at the Mid-America Motorcycle auction in Monterey last month. The pictured 1957 Triumph TRW came out of Canadian Military storage approximately 40 years ago, and has never been out of the original factory shipping crate. This twin cylinder Triumph has chrome wheel rims and gold pinstriping accenting the green paintwork. It is supplied with the complete tool kit and other accessories, including the hardbound owner's manual and sold for $34,500.

One has to wonder what its new owner will do with it. Leave it in the shipping crate making it a fantastic museum piece, or remove it and assemble it? With a mere 15 test miles added by the factory, if the new owner rides it, every mile added to the odometer would devalue it. Tough decision.

READER, Thomas James (Ret.) Colonel - Passed away peacefully at KGH on the 24th of August 2011 in his 81st year. Loving husband of Frances (Frankie) Gillissie, cherished father of Kelly Laforest (Marc) and Leslie Dupre (Jon) and proud grandpa of Alexandra, Chloe and Sydra. Tom was predeceased by his first wife Margaret, his son, Terry James and his sister Norna Eidsness. He will be sadly missed by many including his numerous nieces and nephews and of course his dog, Roxy. The family will receive friends and family at the James Reid Funeral Home (1900 John Counter Boulevard) from 2:00 to 5:00 on Sunday, August 28th. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Church (1111 Taylor Kidd Boulevard) on Monday at 11:00am, reception to follow at St. Pauls. Cremation to follow.
