Deceased 27 April 2013 at Kingston, Ontario
DESJARDINS, Peter - 1920 – 2013 WWII Veteran – L/Col. (Ret.) Passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27 at KGH at the age of 93. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years, Winifred (Winnie). Dear father of Geri Kugelmass (Michael) and Mary Desjardins. Proud grandfather of Sara (Tim), Monica (Oren) and Leah. He will be remembered by nieces, nephews, longtime close friends Olive and Charlie and dear friends Jo and Fran. Peter served with the Canadian Grenadier Guards during WWII. After the war, he made the military his career for 30 years, followed by a shorter career with NATO. His travels through work and after retirement allowed for many friendships to be made in Canada and abroad. Peter's woodworking skills have left his family with some memorable furniture pieces. Many thanks to the kind and caring staff at The Waterford Retirement Residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. JOSEPH'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH (392 Palace Road) on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to KGH or the charity of your choice. 12398935

Fequet, Lorraine M.B., C.D.

Peacefully at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital on Thursday April 25, 2013 in her 58th year. Beloved wife of 39 years to Tony Fequet. Beloved daughter to Kathleen Kinsella and the late Stan Carlin. Loving mother to Jacqueline Fequet, Melanie and her husband Sheldon Gillis and Eric and his wife Catherine Fequet. Dear sister to Janis Carlin of Montreal, Quebec and Leah Carlin (Dean) of Ottawa, Ontario. Cherished grandmother to Jessika, Carlin, Nicole, Brydin, Eria, Miley, Jake and Brody. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Dr. Ivan Stewart, to the staff at KGH, St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital, to the CCAC staff and the medical staff of CFB Kingston, and in particular her case manager Michelle Quinton – Hickey.


Family and friends will be received at the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Homes - 435 Davis Drive (Taylor Kidd Blvd. & Centennial Drive) on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be celebrated in our chapel on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Final place of rest Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa. Obituary annoucement for Terry Hurd LM446
Deceased 12 Mar 2013 in Wetaskiwin, AB

Terry Hurd passed away this morning in Wetaskiwin.  He was a long time veteran of RCCS and CE Branch. He served in many field units in Canada and overseas. In retirement, Terry served as president of the Northern Alberta Signals and Communications association for many years. He designed and with the association built the cairn dedicated to the NWT&YRS. Terry was a paratrooper in CJATC Rivers with Air Support Signals.

Obituary announcement for Wayne Corkum LM806

Wayne Allen Corkum, CD - 66, of Melanson, Kings County, passed away Monday, February 18, 2013.  Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Carl and Dorothy (Allen) Corkum.  Wayne was a member of the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals for 13 years.  During this time he served in Camp Gagetown, N.B., Edmonton, Alberta, Lahr, Germany, Petawawa, ON, and Middle East.  After retiring from the Forces he moved to N.S. and joined the Civil Servants as a Communications Operator with 723 Comm Sqn, Halifax, finally retiring in 1999.  He is survived by his beloved wife, the former Theresa Davidson; and cherished daughter, Karen Corkum, Melanson; a sister, Linda Christie, Lakeville; two brothers, Karl (Cheryl), Beaverbank; Michael (Elizabeth), Mt. Uniacke.  He is survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Maureen Luckhurst.  Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23,2013, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating.  Burial will take place at a later date in the Gaspereau Cemetery, Kings County.  Donations in memory may be made to a charity of your choice.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
