Obituary Notice for James Edward Lankin (LM759)


Peacefully after a lengthy battle with cancer, at LHSC Victoria Campus on Wednesday July 6, 2011, James Edward Lankin (Ed) of London passed away in his 71st year. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mamie. Loving father of Glenn and his wife Deb (Gabrielle) and his daughter, Susanne Goudswaard and husband Joe. Sadly missed by his granddaughters Emily and Maya Lankin. He is survived by his two sisters, Carole Boyd and her husband, Lawrence J Boyd and Barbara Friars and her husband Bill Friars of Harrow, Ontario. A special thank you goes out to the nurses of the palliative care and emergency units of LHSC Victoria Campus. A service to celebrate Eds life will be held on Saturday, July 16th, 2011, at Lambeth United Church, 4268 Colonel Talbot Road, London. Commencing at 11:00 am, with Rev. Mathew Penny officiating. Ed was in the 6th intake of Signals Apprentice 57-59. He graduated as a Rad Op. and was a Life Member of the Signallers Club of Canada (LM759). He was a very quiet soldier, a good operator with a wonderful smile on his face at all times.
